Like many other chiropractors, it was Craig’s personal experience of the benefits of Chiropractic treatment at the age of thirteen that was to have a profound effect on his decision to train to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Following a rugby injury to the neck and his subsequent rapid pain relief and full recovery under care from his local chiropractor in Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa he decided to dedicate his life to helping others recover from spine and joint pain through
chiropractic care.

Following six years of intensive undergraduate studies and graduating in 1996 with a Master’s Degree, the decision was made to leave South Africa and move to the UK. Initially this was as an Associate in a large practice in Solihull. Following five and half years treating thousands of patients and gaining valuable experience the decision was made to relocate to Leamington Spa creating his own clinic within Warwick Gates Family Health Centre. Heathcote Chiropractic Clinic was thus established in December 2002 and continues to grow from strength to strength.

Over this time Craig has been fortunate to have been able to provide thousands of chiropractic adjustments to patients from near and far. He has undergone extensive post-graduate training in areas ranging from sports injury treatment and prevention, rehabilitation of the spine, treatment of pregnant women and babies and gait analysis and orthotic prescription. In 2001 he was one of a handful of chiropractors to start studying the Activator Methods Technique which was introduced from the USA. Over the past six years he has specialised in this technique achieving his Advanced Proficiency rating in 2004 and subsequently being invited in 2006 to become an Instructor helping teach other chiropractors the technique in the UK.

Other useful information

What is chiropractic suitable for?

Chiropractic treatment is suitable for everyone, including newborn babies, the elderly, pregnant women and sports enthusiasts.

Does treatment hurt?

Skilful spinal manipulation should not be painful. Sometimes, working on muscles which are in spasm can be uncomfortable and so these procedures are used only when absolutely necessary. Chiropractic treatment is often sought out because of its effectiveness in reducing pain of spinal origin.
